💳 Deal Alert: Start Earning Points on Rent for Free

Hi all! This short email is a bit of an experiment, so I’ll return to the normal long-form emails next week (please give me feedback at the end of the email if you didn’t like it). However, I wanted to share something I’m pretty excited about. If you listened to Episode 45 the podcast with Richard Kerr, we talked about travel and point strategies for 2022, but we also talked about the Bilt Rewards Mastercard he and the rest of Bilt team are working on. At the time the card was closed to new signups, but that finally changed today.

While there’s no big signup bonus, there’s a lot to be excited about. Most notably, you can earn points on rent without transaction fees (even if your landlord only accepts checks). There’s not another card in the market that offers this, so if you pay rent, I think this is a must have card.

On top of that, it earns 3x on Dining, 2x on Travel and 1x on everything else, which makes it competitive with the Chase Sapphire Preferred, except maybe it’s better because it has no annual fee and comes with $25 deductible cell phone protection. You can also transfer Bilt Rewards points to 9 airlines (including American and United) as well as Hyatt and IHG for hotels.

That’s probably why the top email I got for the week that my episode with Richard was from listeners/readers asking how they could skip the waitlist and sign up for the Bilt card. Well at allthehacks.com/bilt you can sign up today.

I’ve never sent a short newsletter like this before, but I know from the reader survey that more than half of subscribers pay rent, so I wanted to send something out quick to try and help that group start earning more points. If the Bilt card isn’t for you, then don’t worry, the newsletter will be back to it’s normal style emails next week. Also, just to be clear, I was not paid for this promotion by Bilt, but it is my referral link where I earn points for those who sign up.

💬 What’d you think?

Please let me know what you think of these quick/short emails:
